Muscle Cars: The legend Lives On

In order to sell a more attractive vehicle to the motoring public the US motor manufacturers created the affordable straight line, high performance car class. These 'Muscle cars', as they came to be known usually consisted of a V8 powered, modified two door family saloon, like the legendary Camaro, Charger, Mustang, Firebird and GTO. Although debate still rages over the exact definition and which models qualify.

This book describes the various models that fall into this category. The text is light (coffee table book) and it provides a model timeline with notable events. The pictures are generally very good. However with the exception of a couple like the 2005 Chrysler 300 and the Plymouth Prowler (which I like, but personally wouldn't include). There are some very good examples.

Pontiac - Firebird, Grand Prix, Pontiac GTO.
Shelby - Cobra.
