However, they might find the facts listed below interesting, revealing and entertaining.1953 Meteor 700 appears as Britain's largest parallel twin, featuring alloy front hub, fork and primary chaincase. 1954 Alloy headlight casquette adopted. 1955 Meteor is replaced by the Super Meteor with similar specifications, except now produces 40 bhp - up from 36. 1958 Constellation announced, this is a tuned version of the 700 Super Meteor with hot camshafts, a single 10TT9 carburettor and siamesed exhaust. 1960 Twin Monoblocs replace TT carburettor and toolbox lid redesigned. 1961 Semi-enclosed rear panelling introduced. 1962 Interceptor MkI arrives with 71 x 93 mm bore x stroke. Identified by symmetrical barrels. Super Meteor production ends. 1963 Constellation now available with Super Meteor spec single carb, 7.25 : 1 compression and 40hp. Production ceases during the year. 1964 American model introduced with longer swinging arm, separate speedometer and tachometer in alloy fascia, 2-gallon fuel tank, separate exhausts and 12-volt lighting. Available as Custom (single carburettor, standard cams), GT (twin carburettor, sports cams) and TT (supersports cams). British model continues with twin monoblocs, casquette, and siamesed pipes. 1966 Interceptor MkI production comes to an end. 1967 Interceptor MkIA produced by Enfield Precision Engineers, Bradford-on-Avon. Twin concentric carbs, coil ignition, improved breathing and street scrambler styling. 1968 Interceptor MkII. Redesigned wet sump engine with points in timing cover with Norton forks and front brake. 1970 Production comes to an end.
