Úvod »* Kalendáře» Porsche 911 Ultimate Portfolio 1990-1997
That the Porsche 911 continued to be so popular as the boom period of the late 1980s gave way to the recession of the early 1990s, spoke volumes for the qualities of this design, which by that time was approaching three decades in production. Periodic updates had of course kept the car out in front of its rivals, but the basis of the 911 models covered in this book was the car originally announced in 1963 to replace the evergreen 356 range. So it is hardly surprising that the 911 had a colourful history of changes and updates, of model variations and improvements, during the 1990s. Porsche had to keep it fresh, and that they succeeded only too well is made clear by the articles in this book. Porsche 911 owners today tend to fall into two categories. There are those who buy the car because its image tells the world how much money they have. Such owners probably drive the car only a few times and then tire of it, passing it on to a new owner. Then there are those who scrimp and save in order to own an example of this fabulous machine, and would rather go without a new pair of shoes than be unable to drive their 911s. Without the first type of owner, Porsche would have ceased to exist many years ago. With the dedicated enthusiasm of the second, the 911 legend will be preserved for generations to come. Featured are road, comparison & long term tests, model updates & buyers guides. Models covered: Turbo, S2, GT1, GT2, Carrera, S, 2, 4, 4S, RS, America, Ruf, Speedster, Cabrio, Tiptronic & Targa. 208 pages. 56 in full colour. SB.
