Sir Alec Issigonis, the Mini's creator, would have been proud if he had lived to see that the car he created in the late 1950s was still in production in the late 1990s. Initially badged as an Austin or a Morris, the car became a plain Mini during the British Leyland period, and then went on to wear Rover badges when BL changed its name in the middle 1980s.
