The P4 replacement was considered as early as the mid-fifties when it was decided to start on a clean sheet of paper and design a monocoque base unit body shell with bolt-on body panels and a de Dion rear axle. The engine was 1978cc, developing 90bhp. This basic specification remained until the automatic and twin carb versions came in 1967. There was a significant facelift in 1971 with new grille, bonnet pressing, and Vinyl covered quarter panels. In August 1973 the model was re-titled 2200 by enlarging the bore size. Availability continued until 1977. This is a book of contemporary road tests, new model introductions, engineering, owner survey, used car test & history. Models covered: 2000, 2000TC, 2200TC & 2200SC.
