Peter Bryant began his colourful racing career in 1957 as an F1 mechanic at Lotus and later joined the Cooper Climax Bowmaker team. A trip to California as chief mechanic for John Surteess factory Ferrari 250 P convinced him to move to America where he redesigned Mickey Thompsons 1964 Indianapolis cars then joined Carroll Shelby to develop GT40 and Mustang GT350. But it was in the Can-Am series where Peter left his greatest mark as the designer of the first titanium monocoque chassis and the UOP Shadow Can-Am cars.
