The book you hold in your hands is numbered and signed by Earl Johnson, and only 300 copies of this edition have been produced.
The concept of producing these books began in the mid nineteen eighties and was encouraged by the author's father-in-law, John L. Hawkins. When it became apparent that there was wide public interest beyond the small community directly involved in the trucking industry, the books made their way into book stores worldwide. Bringing the world of the truck into homes, shops and libraries far beyond the truck stops, yards and dispatch offices where it works every-day has been a public relations and recruitment benefit to the industry as whole. Some of the kids wearing out the pages of these volumes will join the industry one day, we all sincerely hope.
